Here's Gracie Mae, growing up. She's eating well now and on the go. She's in constant motion (unless she's asleep) and she plays with everything including things that don't move. My step-mom, JoAnn, got this rug for the front door and I laid it in the middle of the kitchen floor when I got home and thought this would make a great picture! What do you think? Heed the warning!!!!!
After a hard day's play......Gracie Mae asleep in her daddy's arms! Yes, I did win and we named her Grace. She fits the description quite well, she's so sweet.

This was that last pic I got of the baby finches before they "flew the coop"! They were gone a couple of days later. It was quite an experience being able to see them hatch and grow so close up.

I thought I would leave you with this beautiful picture of a day lily in my yard. I've been trying to take different pics instead of the usual whole flower. I thought it turned out quite wonderful.

Here are the babies today; unbelievable how they change daily in their appearance. I would say this could be the last picture, we'll see. I'm sure they'll be out of the nest shortly. Especially since the parents are keeping quite the close eye on them as never before. They did not like me close to their nest today. They were raising quite a fuss which attracted others in the vicinity which I'm sure also have nests close by. One was the wren and another a male goldfinch. And I would say it's time for them to go, hence all the bird poop around the nest! Yuk!
This is not the clearest pic of daddy bird, but you can see how red he is, much more brightly colored than the mommy. He did not like me being so close to the nest this time, he was swooping down at me when I took a pic of the babies today.

This is mom and dad!

This is Sadie, our new "grandpuppy". She is a four month old chocolate lab. Quite the personality and loves her "girls". That would be our grandaughters, Ashley and Allyson.

This is Allyson, our Grandaughter with Sadie. They have become big buddies.

Leaving you with a pic of my sister and I. We found these awesome shirts at Cracker Barrel and couldn't resist getting them. We were in Evansville, Indiana at Deaconess Hospital where my mom had just gotten a hip replacement done. We knew she would love it and it would brighten her day!

New Fur Baby

Okay, what can I say. We've already got another kitten....and isn't she cute? Her name is Muumuu; don't ask. It's a long story! She was the runt and weighs 110z. She cries alot, misses her mommy. But she is so sweet and ever so cute; just a little furball of love.

We have babies!!! Two little fuzz balls.....how do they fit in that egg? You can hardly really tell they are birds in this pic, little red things with downy fuzz on them. They cannot lift their heads at this point. I have a few more progression pics taken over a few days time.
Okay, I count four, they change in appearance daily.

Amazing how fast little birds grow! This is only two days later than the other pic. They are already looking more like birds everyday and their feathers are starting to show more. As far as I can see, there's only four, don't know about the fifth egg. Mama and papa finch are keeping a close eye out from a distance when you're close to their nest.

And here's the latest; it's in my hanging flower basket in the front of the house. Each day we've seen a new egg laid, but no site of any bird! One egg is outside the nest which is more of a "tunnel" like nest, not your usual birds nest we're used to seeing. So we'll see what progresses with this one.
