DAKOTA at fifteen months

Wanted to share a couple new pics of our Granddaughter, Dakota. She is fifteen months old now. She wasn't into "picture taking" this time! Only wanted to be in Daddy's arms....but they are adorable. Of course, I'm a little biased!

The Beauty That Surrounds Us

God's glory is on tour in the skies,
God-craft on exhibit across the horizon. Psalm 19:1

Yesterday, we hit the road.....the Great River Road! We went north along the Mississippi River up through Grafton, Illinois, to Pere Marquette State Park. We were surprised that there still wasn't that much color--as much as we were expecting, but it was a beautiful day with beautiful surroundings. Enjoy the scenery.

Each morning the sun rises upon a glorious world that is a physical manifestation of God's infinite power and His infinite love. And yet we're sometimes too busy to notice.

Today take time to really observe the world around you. Take time to offer a prayer of thanks for the sky above and the beauty that lies beneath it. And take time to ponder the miracle of God's creation. The time you spend celebrating God's wonderful world is always time well spent.

Creation is filled with stunning variety and exquisite beauty. The delicate intricate, and fragile, as well as the strong, mighty, and powerful, testify sweetly to the richness of the Creator. -Marilyn Meberg

About the Election

Okay, two more weeks and we can finally put all this election "stuff" behind us. I will be so happy......but here are just a few thoughts from Maxine on the election to help you keep your humor about it all.

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming about some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today. --Dale Carnegie

Jeff & Tori - Together Forever

Let love and faithfulness never leave you...
Write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3 NIV

The Bible makes is clear: love and commitment are to be intertwined. That's especially necessary in a marriage relationship. When we vow to love our partner "till death do us part," we must take that promise seriously. And we'd better be willing to do the hard work required to make the marriage last. And sometimes it's harder than easier! So write the words love and faithfulness on the tablet of your heart....and be sure to use permanent ink!

Marriages may be made in heaven, but a lot of the details have to be worked out here on earth. --Gloria Pitzer
